I am honoured to be an alumni of Centre for CenPRIS pioneering in Master of Science (Marine Sciences). When I first started my masters, I had no experience on algal research but I fell in love on that topic during my undergraduate studies. Starting from scratch was not an easy task but I took up the challenge nonetheless. I was given the opportunity of a lifetime to conduct a short research abroad in Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies (IMAS), University of Tasmania (UTas), Hobart, Australia. The research was on ocean acidification and nutrients towards the response of polar, temperate and tropical algae. My research mainly in the scope of microalgal photophysiology and I was grateful to have strong collaborators from IMAS and University of Malaya. Along my masters journey, I attended many useful workshops, trainings and conferences where I met many leading experts on algae which contributed in my research as well. Throughout my three years of study, I gained knowledge and experience in research and also life lessons. The journey was a roller coaster ride full of ups and downs. I could not remember how many times I failed but I preservered until the end. I was blessed to have a wonderful and great supervisor to guide me through my masters journey. The journey has made who I am today. Thank you CenPRIS! |
